Capt. Levett Landen Boscawen Ibbetson, FGS, FRS (†1869), Clifton House, Old Brompton, London and Biebrich, Prussia; manufacturer and inventor of ‘electrotypes from the animal and vegetable kingdom’ (sic); he also exhibited a trigonometrical model of the Undercliff, Isle of Wight. Ibbetson’s valuable collection of fossils was given to the Museum of Practical Geology in Jermyn Street, London, in several tranches from 1853. Further biographical detail is sold with the lot
