Will Bennett has worked in journalism and public relations since 1971 when he joined a local newspaper as a trainee reporter. After several years in regional papers around England, he went to the national press, which was still based in Fleet Street. He freelanced for a number of nationals until he got his first staff job on The Mail on Sunday where, in addition to general reporting duties, he specialised in defence and Northern Ireland, travelling widely on the paper’s behalf.

Moving to The Independent shortly after its foundation, he covered numerous criminal trials at the Old Bailey and libel cases at the High Court as well as a wide range of other news stories. He then transferred to The Daily Telegraph where he spent a decade, firstly as a news reporter and then as Art Sales Correspondent, writing about auction houses, art fairs and all aspects of the art and antiques market. He had his own weekly column on the Telegraph arts pages as well as providing stories for the news and city sections of the paper.

His next career move was into public relations where he worked for a company that specialised in arts PR. Clients included The European Fine Art Fair (TEFAF) in Maastricht, widely regarded as the world’s finest art fair, leading West End arts and antiques dealers and arts institutions.

Will began working for DNW in 2013 liaising with the international, national, regional, trade and specialist press both before and after auctions. His aim is to reinforce DNW’s established image as one of the world’s leading specialists in coins, medals, paper money and jewellery.
