Lieutenant G.S. Broome was present at the Defence of Alexandria, occupation of Kafr ed-Dauar, and surrender of Damietta. He transferred to the Liverpool Regiment and later to the Indian Army as Captain and Wing Commander, 29 Bombay Infantry. He retired with the brevet rank of Colonel.
