A good quality mameluke hilted sword, probably for an equerry, the curved 82cm blade by Pulford & Co, St James’s Street, London, intricately etched with VR cypher, stand of arms, floral scrolls, etc., retaining almost all original finish, the copper-gilt hilt mounts deeply chased with foliate designs and applied with crowned VR cypher, ivory grips with floral rosettes, laddered backstrap, gold bullion sword knot, complete with its polished steel scabbard with three ornate copper gilt mounts, rather dirty overall, but basically very good condition £350-400
