An unusual Indian dagger, Kard, 26cm T-backed blade, the copper-gilt hilt chased with floral designs and set with multi-coloured glass brilliants, the hinged pommel opening to reveal a compartment fitted for small instruments three of which remain including a knife with screw on hilt, a hooked probe and a tiny pair of folding scissors all of which are made of cut steel, wood scabbard covered with red velvet, with ornate copper-gilt top mount and chape terminating with a bird head both again chased overall with foliate designs on a stippled ground en-suite with the hilt, good condition £400-450
