Carrickfergus, Carrickfergus School, a silver award medal by W. Mossop, Minerva seated left, rev. wreath, named (William Molony, LL D, Principal, This Medal was adjudged to Master John Hardy for superior diligence and good conduct during the half year ended June 18th 1847), 43mm (Grimshaw 150; Went, Heritage 139). Very fine, toned; with clip and ring for suspension (£60-80)

William Molony, a Dublin graduate born in Clare in 1805, achieved the degrees of LL B and LL D in 1840; he was listed as a director of the Carrickfergus Gas Co Ltd, 1861
