Lushington), 38mm, 28.28g (Pudd. 948.113.3). Extremely fine, toned, with clip and ring for suspension, extremely rare; in original faded green fitted case by P. Orr & Sons Ltd, Madras & Rangoon (£400-600)

Ambrose Blacklock (1816-73) joined the HEI Medical Service in 1840 and spent his working career in Madras. He died of enteritis and the medal was subscribed to by 89 friends and associates in his memory. For other medals to the recipient, see lots 2379 and 2393
