Charles I (1625-1649), Tower mint, Pattern Shilling, Gp D, by an unknown artist, in silver, mm. rose, crowned bust left in collar and armour with ribbon of the lesser George, both arches of crown jewelled, rev. oval scroll-garnished shield between c r, no inner circles, 5.77g/12h (SCBI Brooker –; N 2697). About fine and toned, excessively rare £2,500-3,000
