A piece missing at top left and a 20mm tear running through vignette, further 10 and 30mm tears in top edge and a 15mm tear in bottom edge, otherwise good very fine (£350-450)

The Ross Island Co was established in 1804 by Col. Robert Hall and his associates. Mining of copper and some lead, which had taken place at intervals since the dawn of the Bronze Age, was restarted and continued until 1829; the lease was granted in 1811 to William White, the mine manager
