An Afghan War Silver Star group of eight representative of those awarded to Staff Sergeant Arin K. Canon, 1st Battalion 75th Ranger Regiment

Silver Star, crimp brooch; Joint Service Commendation Medal, enamelled, crimp brooch; Military Achievement Medal, with two oak leaf cluster; Army Good Conduct Medal; National Defense Service Medal; Iraq Campaign Medal; Afghanistan Campaign Medal; Armed Forces Service Medal, bronze star on ribbon, all unnamed, extremely fine (8) £70-90


Note: the above medals are representative of those awarded to Sergeant Canon.

Silver Star awarded ‘For gallantry in action against the enemy during the period March 3, 2002 to March 4, 2002, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. SSgt. Canon’s valorous actions while in direct contact with enemy forces and in the face of extreme duress during the successful rescue of Special Operators contributed immeasurably to the success of the mission and to the saving of additional lives. SSgt. Canon led the support element during the initial assault on an enemy fortified position. His leadership was instrumental in suppressing the objective. Immediately following the action, he coordinated the defense of the entire objective, placing personnel and key weapon systems that enabled the platoon to defeat two enemy counterattacks’.

With a colour photograph of the recipient being presented with his Silver Star; together with two cloth badges for display purposes.

Also with two replica Army tunics, both bearing a plastic name badge ‘Canon’, one with a full range of ribands, badges and rank insignia
