Footnote

John Tart was born in Malta and was entered on board H.M.S. Victory as an Ordinary Seaman on 1 March 1805, aged 20 years. The muster roll of H.M.S. Victory confirms that he was aboard ship at the battle of Trafalgar and he is confirmed on the medal roll as one of 118 recipients aboard H.M.S. Victory at Trafalgar.
