Wyon, Corporation of of the City of London Series, Londonia inviting Victoria and the Prince of Wales into St. Paul’s Cathedral, reverse interior of St.. Paul’s, 77mm (BHM 2928; Taylor 39K). About extremely fine, with fine architectural detail on reverse (£40-50)

The Prince of Wales caught typhoid in December, 1871, with near fatal consequences. To mark his recovery a national thanksgiving was held at St. Paul’s Cathedral.
