A gold half hunter pocket watch with chain and pencil the white enamel dial with black Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds dial and blued steel hands, lacking glass, 3/4 plate movement, the gold cuvette and front cover bearing import marks for 12ct gold, the plain case with blue enamel chapter ring, suspended from a 9ct gold baton and belcher-link chain, to a 9ct gold pencil fob, by Sampson Mordan & Co, in a case signed ‘J. W. Benson Ltd’, watch diameter 5cm, chain length 34.5cm. £500-700

Condition Report

The dial, hands and movement are in good condition, with minimal wear. The glass is lacking, but the rim is present and correct. The case is quite thin gauge and the inside of the back of the case has been reinforced. The chapter ring to the front of the case is lacking some enamel. The chain and the pencil fob show light wear. The case has some scuffing to the leather exterior, but the interior silk and velvet are in good condition.
