A silver cased ‘Atlas’ Goliath pocket watch on Goliath chain, the white enamel dial with black Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds dial, blue steel hands, high bevelled glass, the lateral lever escape top wind movement signed ‘The Atlas Watch, Manuf’d in Switzerland’, the heavy plain case bearing Swiss 875/1000 purity 1893-1934 assay mark, suspended on a heavy silver fetter and belcher-link Albert chain, with swivel terminal, links hallmarked, watch diameter 69mm, length of chain 21cm, gross weight of watch and chain 318gm. £700-900

Condition Report

The white enamel dial has one very faint hairline, running in from 5 o’clock (barely visible). The glass is fine. The movement looks fine and runs when wound; it remains untested for timekeeping. The case have general light surface wear and a couple of very small dents to the reverse of the case. The chain shows light surface wear. We recommend all watches purchased at auction will require a full service.
