A pocket watch by V. Sampson, London, together with a 9ct gold Albert chain and an 18ct gold fob watch, the openfaced pocket watch with signed white enamel dial and subsidiary seconds dial, signed jewelled movement, the plain case hallmarked for Chester, 1912, the Albert chain of uniform curb links, to swivel terminals and central T-bar, the openface fob watch with gilt dial, and scroll engraved case with import marks for 18ct gold, pocket watch diameter 5.2cm, weight 105gm, Albert chain length 43cm, weight 37gm. £700-900

Condition Report

The pocket watch dial has one small hairline fracture and small spots of discolouration around each numeral; the movement looks fine and runs when wound, but remains untested for timekeeping; the case shows light wear. The Albert chain shows light wear only. The suspended hinged fob seal is damaged. The fob watch dial and glass show light wear; the movement does not run or wind, and will require service/repair; the case is quite thin gauge, but the engraved decoration is fairly crisp.
