Æthelred II (978-1016), Penny, CRVX type, Wareham, Beorhtsige, byrhsige m¯o per, normal type, 1.67g/9h (SCBI Copenhagen 1297, same dies; SCBI West Country 486, same rev. die; BEH 3952; N 770; S 1148). A trifle crimped and has been recently cleaned, otherwise about very fine, rare £300-£400
