A pair of late 19th century large diamond drop earpendants, comprising two principal cushion-shaped old-cut fancy light yellow diamonds, weighing 6.55 carats and 7.2 carats respectively, each mounted beneath an old brilliant-cut diamond surmount, all claw set in gold and silver, to hook fittings, accompanied by certification from GCS laboratory, earpendant length 29mm. £30,000-£50,000

Condition Report

The stones are well matched in colour and appearance. The mounts show some wear to claws and general surface wear, in keeping with age, but are in wearable condition. Gross weight of earrings 9.3gm.


GCS results: Top stones: 2.07ct - N/R range VS1
2.17ct N/R range - VS2


Bottom stones: 6.56 cts - Fancy light yellow VS1
7.29 cts Fancy light yellow SI1


Footnote

The Gemmological Certification Services diamond report, No. 80276-74, dated 12.10.2020 confirms that the first principal diamond weighs 6.56 carats, is fancy light yellow colour and clarity VS1; the second principal diamond weighs 7.29 carats, is fancy light yellow colour and clarity SI1.

The two old brilliant-cut diamonds have also been unmounted and had verbal assessment at GCS confirming weights of 2.07 carats and 2.17 carats respectively, colour N-R, clarity VS1-2.
