A mid Victorian diamond and enamel serpent bracelet, the graduated snake-link chain body (wraps twice around the wrist) to a blue enamelled serpent head clasp with pear-shaped cabochon ruby eyes and rose-cut diamond set eyebrows, to a central shaped cluster of old brilliant and pear-cut diamonds, mounted in gold and silver, total bracelet length 35.5cm. £2,000-£2,800

Condition Report

The enamel has a large chip to one edge and a few smaller surface chips towards the neck, it shows some scuffing. The rubies are bright and well matched. The diamonds are all present and correct, the principal pear-cut diamond (to the centre of the cluster) weighs approximately 0.5 carats. The mount and chain body are unmarked and untested, in generally good condition, but with some surface wear and scuffing. The safety chain is later added to the side of the clasp. Could be worn as a choker necklace. Gross weight 49.6gm.
