Containing observations military (“ ... Were the Spanish Troops to attack Portugal on that side there would be little or nothing to stop them till they arrived at these mountains where they might easily be checked by inferior numbers ...”) and civilian (“ ... The Best Wine at Porto costs about £22: The Cellars are worthy of notice, some of which we saw contained six & seven thousand pipes each. The Gentlemen of the British factory are remarkable for their hospitality - an introduction to one produces an acquaintance with the whole, they live on the most friendly footing with one another; (which considering their being all in the same line of business is uncommon) & seem to vie with each other in their attention to strangers ...”), c. 50 leaves, written on one side only, ownership inscription “Blantyre / Lisbon. June 4th / 1797”, marbled boards, 8vo., 1797
