Richard H Harris
Richard H. Harris was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Signal Corps in 1966. A number of troop and staff assignments followed culminating with his assignment to the U.S. Delegation to N.A.T.O. in Brussels in 1991. Retiring as a Colonel in 1992, his overseas assignments included Vietnam, Iran, Germany, Turkey, Korea, Iceland, the Netherlands and Belgium.
Having a keen interest in geography and military history since a youth, he has always been interested in the Himalayan region and reading about the "Great Game". He still hopes to visit the region someday.
A chance encounter with a Tibet Medal in 1988 while visiting London sparked the interest to start this collection
