Thomas, R.W.Fus.); together with the recipient’s Silver War Badge numbered, B.88219, with original safety chain fitting in original numbered box of issue and named and numbered issue slip; and a St. Dunstan’s Billiard Fund Prize Medallion, bronze, the reverse engraved ‘A. Albert Yorke Thomas was born at Penmaenmawr, Caernarvonshire, North Wales, in 1896 and attested for the Royal Welsh Fusiliers on 4 January 1915. He served during the Great War in the Gallipoli theatre of War from 8 August 1915; his pension records indicate that he suffered a crushing injury to his foot while on active service and he was awarded the Silver War Badge prior to being discharged on 2 January 1919.
