Chaplain, head of La France right under the bough of a tree, rev. male figure holding torch above a winged female figure of Victory, Expo pavilion below, tablet named (G. Frampton), 64mm (PBE 82; Baxter 95; BDM I, 404; cf. DNW 47, 880). Virtually as struck; in maroon fitted case with gilt-blocked lid and original award slip (£40-60)


Frampton received the médaille d’honneur at the Paris Expo of 1900 for his bas-relief Mysteriarch, executed in 1893 and now in the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool
