William G. Dunning was killed on 22 November 1939, when the S.S. Lowland struck a mine near the Gunfleet Buoy.

Jack Ritson Tripp was killed on 14 December 1939, aged 17 years, when H.M.S.
Elvina was lost at sea off the Tyne, having struck a mine.

Archibald Gillespie was killed on 15 February 1942, when M.V.
Empire Spring was sunk by the U-576 between the Newfoundland Bank and Nova Scotia.

George Ernest Mason served as Cook aboard the troopship S.S.
Reina del Pacifico, and died on 3 April 1944, aged 32 years.
