THE STUART LINE, 1713-14, a cast and chased silver medal by J. O’Brisset, bust of James III left, no legend, field stippled, reverse conjoined busts of James II and Mary of Modena right, 50mm (Woolf 28:1c, illustrated from this piece [not in Sale]; M.I. 216/540 var.). With integral loop for suspension, almost extremely fine and the only known specimen (£300-400)

Bt. Eimer 1980. This piece, and others by O’Brisset in like vein, were believed by Woolf to be Whig creations designed as anti-Jacobite propoganda, denouncing any perceived right of James III to the English throne on the death of Queen Anne
