3rd (Prince of Wales’s) Dragoon Guards Other Ranks 1871 Pattern Helmet Plate & Assorted Horse Furniture. The helmet plate of standard format, a white metal elongated star overlaid with a brass Garter Proper enclosing a white metal ‘3’ on a ground of black patent leather, the horse furniture comprises two bit-bosses Guelphic crown and KC patterns, brass with silver mounts, full titles ‘Third Dragoon Guards’ (the silver mount on the Guelphic pattern severely worn), a circular brass example mounted with the Prince of Wales’s Badge & Motto complete with original leather backing, a similar item fitted with four blade fasteners and a rectangular brass hollow box slide with a similar mount, two plain brass ornaments of rococo outline with domed centres both with original leather backings, only one fastener present on the bit bosses otherwise good condition (8) £100-140
