Francis Mayors enlisted with the 65th Brigade Depot, transferring to the 94th Foot on 2 January 1879, regimental number 2046. He served in the latter stages of the Boer War and in the Transvaal War of 1880-81, during which he was besieged at Standerton. The musters confirm his new regimental number 647 in April 1884. He was discharged on 6 September 1899. Sold with some muster details.
