Franz Michaelsen was a retailer of high-end timepieces based in Rome and with a further atelier in Naples.

Condition Report

The dial and glass are fine. The movement looks fine and clean, runs when wound, but remains untested for timekeeping. The case shows slight surface wear only. Gross weight 80.5gm. The leather case shows some scuffing and staining to the exterior and the interior silk is threadbare in large patches. The original guarantee and chamois sleeve were found under the silk within the lid of the box. We recommend that all watches purchased at auction will require/benefit from a full service.
